In this session first of all we looked at examples of working with props and later on got in groups to experiment with different props to create a narrative, atmosphere. After that we edited the photos that we took using different types of apps.
Me and my classmate decided to do this task together so we got up and started to choose the props that we can use in our shoots. This part was a little bit challenging because we didn’t think about how we wanted use the props we just collected the props that we found different and interesting. After we looked at the props, we collected we realized that our props didn’t match that much, but we tried putting them together in different settings and ways. Although we tried making it work the final product wasn’t great and looked like a mess with all the cards and tapes. Considering this, we decided to get new props and completely change our approach. The props we collected worked very well together so we added a shoe in it, and they all got together perfectly. Later on, we went back to class and started editing the best pictures. Trying out many different apps was very inspiring and fun.
Finally, this session was a great experience for me because it was the first time I experimented with props. I also think that it is amazing that we are given the chance to see and choose from all of the unconventional and strange props. I believe that editing the outcomes in different kinds of apps and finding out which apps are the best and work for me the best is going to be very helpful for me in the future assignments.
