Business 2

For this session we explored buying and range planning. We looked at buying and merchandising jobs and learned about buyers. Later. On, we created a range that included the important information about the customer, trends, color, fabric… the first task for this session was picking a retail brand and categorize them.

Me and my group decided to choose Zara for the first task. Although it was easy defining the different styles, finding the merchandise definition was a little bit challenging. For the second task we were required to do a range pyramid for the brand we chose. At first, we mixed a few categories up, but later on we understood how to do it so we corrected them. After that we looked at WGSN and we learned how to use it. I am really happy that I now know how to use the website and I will always use it. 

Overall, I didn’t enjoy this session very much because it was too technical for me. It made me realize that I definitely do not want to study anything related to fashion business. O the other hand the thing I enjoyed the most was looking at examples of products for the range pyramid.
