For this session our aim was to capture fashion content using the landscape, by exploring buildings, people, nature to create narrative and atmosphere for our media content. We were required to photograph each other to later on use in our trends and style pages. We also were required to choose a fashion garment and take as many photos as we can of people who are wearing the item we selected.
When I first arrived to South Bank, I saw Valentina and Kaushiga and so we decided to group together fort his task. We started walking around, looking for places to shoot and as we were walking, I was looking for people who were wearing the item I selected which was fur coats. As we walked around and took photos of each other, I was enjoying the landscape and looking at how people were dressed. The hardest part for me was going up to people and asking them if ı could take their picture. I have always had a hard time going up to people in conditions such as this and ı really hope that one day ı will be good at this. The more ı go up to people and ask, whatever they answer my confidence goes up, so it gets easier and easier. On the other hand, focusing on how everyone was dressed was very interesting and fun for me because every time ı see people dressed in fantastic ways ı get inspired by them. Taking the photos were really fun as well, but ı was not sure with the outcomes as they looked basic so ı decided to crop them and see what I can work with. As a result, ı came up with great shoots that ı am really proud of.
Finally, I think that as time goes by and as I continue going up to people and asking them questions, I will get much better at it. This task also made me realize that cropping, looking at shoots from other perspectives can change a lot about the pictures.
