Words and Pictures [Creating Narrative] (session 7)

This session was about creating fashion editorials and building narrative. We also looked at storytelling trough styling and production with the example of Tim Walker. Later on, we learned more about what fashion editorials are. After looking at some editorial examples our task was to use the photography images, we captured over the spring break to create our own narrative.

This session was great because I love experimenting and trying new things. At first when ı was looking through the photos ı took over spring break ı did not like many of them for this context, so ı chose the ones that were not that bad and worked with them. After ı chose the photos I started searching lyrics and words that match my photos. It was really easy for me because when I see a Picture, seeing the story behind it is always the first thing ı do since ı was a child. The thing I struggled with the most was choosing the right photos fort his Project and because ı didn’t like most ı ended up using the new photos that ı took in the course for my narratives.

Finally, ı think that this task was great for imagination and learning purposes because imagining the story of a photo is as important as the quality of the photo itself. Also learning about editorials was very interesting and I am planning on researching more about Tim Walker.
